That really says it all. Everyone’s sick with cold or flu or both, who knows. It’s terrible. Had a rash scare with Zachary that turned out not to be what they thought it might be (ITP). Birthday pics for Benjamin were rescheduled, too.
Rough week. Looking to reschedule party to a date a couple weeks from now. More on that when we figure it out…
For now, Benjamin’s party this weekend is still a ‘go’, but neither of the little ones are feeling well at all.
Croup for Benjamin for sure, and a cold for Zachary as well (along with Zachary’s ‘mystery rash’). They both seem pretty miserable, and Dad’s not much better. Not much the pediatrician could do for them, either.
We had planned to get some pictures done this week, but that’s been rescheduled for now.
If the party date/time changes, we’ll certainly let you know, but for now, that, at least, is still on schedule. Hopefully they’ll be cleared up by then.
We’re having an informal get-together at home for Benjamin, on Saturday at 2pm, to celebrate his 2-years-oldness, which happens formally in about a week. If you’d like to stop by, please do! but we’d love it if you’d leave us a note and let us know so we can plan a little ahead. :)
We know it’s late notice already, so if you show up, you show up, and we’ll all be happy to see you. :)
Can’t believe it’s been two years already!
We had his first birthday party that very next Monday night, and he had a great time with everyone, and his cousins in particular.
We appreciate the gifts and cards from everyone, too, very much. :)
The blizzard-like weather conditions threatening the area caused our birthday party for Benjamin today to be postponed… Boo. Hope to have it another day very soon, possibly Monday already.
We’re glad Benjamin’s too young to realize that we were already planning on having his birthday party four days after his actual birthday, and that he actually missed having the party at all today. We imagine in a few years this same situation won’t go quite as smoothly/transparently for him…
The hair…has been cut!
It wasn’t really THAT long… but there were some ‘wings’ that were sticking out behind his ears that were apparently driving his mother crazy.
Twelve bucks and literally about twelve snips later, we were done. He sat in Stacey’s lap, and didn’t raise a stink, cry, moan, wiggle around, nothing. He sat there, very politely, and let the stylist cut his hair. She even went around his ears and his neck with an electric trimmer, too, and he was fine with all of it.
After dinner he had a brownie with some cocoa buttercream frosting…his “birthday cake”, basically. He didn’t really care for it… It’s really the first sweet thing other than fruit that he’s had. He seemed to be OK with the brownie itself, but the frosting…not so much; he was mostly making funny ‘what the..?’-style faces when he got some in his mouth.
Stacey and I noticed we didn’t have any candles, so we stuck a lit wooden matchstick in his brownie instead. Actually, we went through about three of them by the time we got all the pictures taken…
All in all, a very good day! We’re having a small party on Saturday for him yet, too. Should be fun!
